Nigerian musician Kifayat Ajoke has shared her perspective on why some married women end up as single mothers while also offering advice on how to sustain a marriage.
In an interview posted on the official YouTube channel of Wasilavoded TV, she stated that some women choose to leave their marriages because they are unwilling to endure financial struggles with their husbands. According to her, these women often walk away once their partners can no longer meet all their needs.
In her statement, she said, “The number of single women is increasing nowadays, due to different reasons. Some married women became single mothers when they didn’t want to suffer with their husbands.
There are some women that think because their friend’s husband bought them a car, their husbands should do the same, not putting their husband’s financial capability into consideration. Although there are some single women who are able to raise their children alone, not all single women can manage to survive being single mothers.”
