Yoruba actress Nike Alajogun has opened up about how life’s challenges led her to change her religious beliefs multiple times in search of healing and peace.
In a video shared on the official YouTube channel of Ojopagogo TV, Alajogun revealed that she initially converted from Christianity to Islam after facing a prolonged conflict with a pastor that lasted 15 years. She explained that a friend introduced her to Islam, assuring her that she could pray at home without necessarily attending the mosque. Embracing the faith, she became deeply committed and even embarked on seven pilgrimages to Mecca.
However, Alajogun recounted that when she fell seriously ill, none of her Muslim associates were there to support her. Feeling abandoned, she decided to turn to traditional spirituality, ultimately embracing Ifa as her new path to healing and self-discovery.
I left Christianity to join Islam and left Islam for traditionalism to overcome my sickness. The traditionalists were the only ones that told me the truth about the exact thing that happened to me, and they assured me that I was going to get over the sickness.”
