“My Wife Left Me and Took My Child Because…” – Deji Coco Opens Up About His Struggles Despite Being an Actor

Popular Yoruba film star Deji Coco has revealed the challenges he faces due to his mother’s actions, which he claims are making his life even more difficult.

In an emotional interview on Kunleafod TV’s official YouTube channel, Deji expressed his frustration, stating that if the pressure continues, he might be driven to extreme measures, even contemplating a life of crime. He added that he no longer cares about the consequences, even if it leads to his demise.

His revelation has sparked concern among fans and colleagues, with many urging him to stay strong and seek support.

In an attempt to establish himself in the competitive film industry, he often had to leave his wife and children behind to travel for movie shoots. This constant absence from home, coupled with the financial instability, put immense strain on his relationship with his first wife.

Deji Coco admitted that his dedication to his career ultimately cost him his marriage. Despite his commitment to building a successful future, his first wife grew increasingly dissatisfied with his prolonged absences.

She expressed frustrations over his lack of presence at home, which led to a breakdown in their relationship. The actor acknowledged that this absence and his inability to focus on the family left emotional scars that still affect him to this day.

Further complicating matters, Deji Coco’s wife was not supportive of his career. The actor stated that she frequently complained about his frequent travels for work, which he felt were necessary to secure his place in the industry.

Over time, these tensions culminated in a separation, with his wife eventually leaving him and taking their child.

In his statement, he said, “Since my mother is proud to call me her son, she should be able to play the role of a mother to me. If my mom frustrates me more, I may have to become a thief, and I don’t care if I die. I don’t want to do anything bad because of my family’s name, and my mom needs to realise that.”

“I’m not with my first wife today; I’ve remarried and had another child because of her negligence. She wasn’t a good mother and wife to me. She wasn’t always there for me. She always complained that I was not always at home because I used to travel frequently for movie locations. It still hurts me today because my wife left me and took our child because I focused more on my job and was not always available. She wasn’t supportive of my career.”
