Legendary Nigerian Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, has opened up about the painful moment he lost his beloved mother, revealing that she passed away while resting on his laps.
In a heartfelt interview shared via the official YouTube channel of Oyinmomo TV, Pasuma emotionally recounted the experience, saying he found it incredibly difficult to accept her passing. According to him, she appeared to be sleeping, and for a long time, he believed she would wake up. “She died on my laps, and I kept thinking she would open her eyes again,” he shared, capturing the depth of his grief and disbelief.
Pasuma said, “I was called on the phone to come to her house to check on her because she was acting strange. When I got there, I told them there was nothing wrong with her because I believed she would be fine when she saw me. My mom was sleeping on my lap the day she died, and I still believed that she would wake up.
I was very close to my mother when she was alive, but I believed that it was her time to die, and I couldn’t stop it from happening. I’m just happy because it wasn’t as if we had to take her from one hospital to the other because she wasn’t sick. When she finished eating that day, she observed her daily prayer, and she said she wanted to rest a little bit, and she didn’t wake up again.”
