
Filmmaker Muyiwa Ademola has officially released the trailer for his upcoming movie, Ori: The Rebirth, a sequel to his 2003 classic Ori.
The 54-year-old actor had earlier teased the trailer’s release on Instagram, announcing,
“ORIrebirth TRAILER DROPS by 3pm TODAY! Please POST IT ON ALL PLATFORMS ❤️. BANG 💣🔥💥 Anticipate!!! ORIrebirth hits the cinemas on May 1st.”
Following through, Muyiwa shared the trailer on Instagram with a heartfelt caption:
“ORIrebirth is a product of sheer determination, perseverance and total commitment! An Authentic Decision to give you all what you asked for! Now is the time for you to go out en masse to watch it at the cinemas.”
“ORIrebirth hits the cinemas on May 1st.”
FilmOne Entertainment, which is handling the movie’s distribution, also shared the trailer on Instagram, generating buzz among fans and celebrities.
The company wrote:
“Haunted by dreams and a forgotten past, a man must awaken his true power and reclaim his heritage in ORI: THE REBIRTH.
“Will he rise to face the darkness? Watch the Official trailer of ORI: THE REBIRTH, Coming May 1st.”
Written, produced and directed by Muyiwa Ademola, Ori: The Rebirth also features contributions from veteran directors Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo Salami.
The original Ori, released over two decades ago, was a critically acclaimed Yoruba-language film that delved into themes of destiny, self-discovery, and perseverance.
It starred Nollywood veterans including Lere Paimo, Sola Sobowale, Peju Ogunmola, Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Jide Kosoko, Faithia Balogun and Fausat Balogun.
