Popular Yoruba actor Kunle Afod has shared the story of how he met his wife, Desola Afod, and the events that unfolded on the day they first crossed paths.
During an interview on the official YouTube channel of Oyinmomo TV, Kunle revealed that Desola’s brother had initially joined his theatre group to learn filmmaking. Their paths eventually crossed when her brother brought Desola along to one of his movie sets — a moment that marked the beginning of their relationship.
In his statement, he said, “My wife knows what she likes about me, but the most important thing is for couples to see themselves as friends. Most men have too much ego because when a man allows a woman to do what makes her happy, it is more likely that the family will benefit from it. Akeem, who happens to be the elder brother of Desola, came to register with my theatre group, and when he told his sister Desola that he met me, she couldn’t believe it, and she decided to come with him the next day. Desola’s brother brought her to my movie set, she fell in love with me immediately she saw me. She was very happy, and she gave me a hug that day, and that was how everything started between us.”
