Nigerian music star Davido has stirred reactions online after an emotional video of him crying at his manager Asa Asika’s traditional wedding surfaced.
As reported by 9jagossip, the wedding ceremony was held in Lagos on Saturday, May 17th, with Davido and the 30BG crew in full attendance. In several clips, the singer was seen actively performing his groomsman duties, visibly moved by the moment.
In the clip, which is making rounds online, the superstar singer is captured giving a speech at the wedding reception when he breaks down in tears as he reflects on their humble beginnings.
In his speech, Davido noted that he has known Asa for over 16 years and met him two years before he became famous. He revealed that Asa is one of the few people, aside from his wife, father, and uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who can handle him.
“Asa, I love you so much. I have known you for 16 years, 2 years before I blew, so we blew together. You are one of the few people who can handle me—you, my wife, my Dad, and my uncle.”

Davido wrote a heartfelt letter to Asa on his wedding day, stating that his wedding had broken him in the most exquisite way. Davido observed that nothing was given to them and that they used faith, fire, and an unbreakable tie to build their empire. He also thanked Asika for being the same strong soul he began with and said that Asa has been more than just a manager to him.
