Renowned Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo has left many stunned after announcing her separation from her husband, Oluwaseyi Akinrinde, in a heartfelt Instagram post.
The couple, who legally tied the knot on April 27, 2021, at the Ikoyi Registry, had previously captured the hearts of many when Biola revealed in 2023 that they welcomed a baby boy through surrogacy. The announcement was met with widespread joy, especially as she shared the emotional journey behind it — including a failed IVF cycle and multiple unsuccessful surrogacy attempts before their son finally arrived.
Biola’s recent revelation about their split has drawn a wave of reactions and support from fans and colleagues, as she continues to navigate this new chapter with grace and honesty.
In a recent Instagram post, Biola Adebayo revealed that she and her partner parted ways in April 2024 and have since chosen to co-parent their son amicably.
While she didn’t disclose the reasons behind the split, she wished him well as he enters a new chapter.
Biola also shared that she endured 14 months of silent struggle, often crying herself to sleep, but drew strength from her Christian faith and the love of Christ.

Yes you heard me right! My husband and i have been separated since April last year but we have decided to maturely and peacefully co-parent our dear son who means everything to us.
To everyone that feels disappointed, I’m sincerely sorry, i wished it worked but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story.

While I go about making other people happy in the day, my pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months but I gain strength from Christ who loves me eternally and gave himself for me.
