Veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Tajudeen Oyewole, popularly known as Abijawara Bi Ekun, shared a lighthearted yet meaningful personal story during an interview with Behind the Fame.
The legendary actor recounted a memorable incident that occurred while he was filming one of his classic movies, Ibinu Abija.
According to him, his son had traveled to the village where the shoot was taking place to request help with his school fees. However, the visit took an amusing twist.
“In the village where I was filming Ibinu Abija, one of my sons came to see me to ask for his school fees,” Abijawara recalled. “But when he arrived, they wanted him to stay longer because he had met a lady there.”
Concerned, Abijawara explained, “I didn’t want him to get married yet. I only sent him there and now he’s chasing a woman he cannot marry.”
Soon, the villagers became involved. “The villagers started warning me to talk to my son. They told me he was chasing a girl that belongs to the village – as in she is their ‘wife’,” he narrated.
Driven by curiosity and concern, the veteran actor decided to investigate. “The next day I started a little digging about the girl and found out that she was not dating anyone in the village, she was actually from the city.”
