On Father’s Day, Ayomiku Alabi, daughter of renowned gospel singer Tope Alabi, celebrated two special men in her life — her husband, Oluwole Bantale, and her stepfather, Soji Alabi — while noticeably leaving out any mention of her biological father.
The singer and content creator posted a heartwarming video with Soji Alabi on Instagram, followed by a photo of her husband. In her caption, she wrote:
“Happy Father’s Day
To the Loves of my life
@officialpopesojialabi and @bantelmotors
May the joy of fatherhood never leave you
I love you both so much ❤️”
Ayomiku tied the knot with Oluwole on March 12, 2025, in an intimate ceremony graced by close friends and family. Her public appreciation for her stepfather and husband has drawn attention, especially due to the absence of any reference to her biological dad.
She received praise from many after her stepfather, Soji Alabi, walked her down the aisle at the wedding.
In an emotional post after the ceremony, Ayomiku described him as a true father who had loved and cared for her from childhood.
“This man loves me beyond words,” she wrote. “From childhood up until the day you gave my hands in marriage to Olu… I love you baami.”
However, the moment also stirred controversy after her biological father, Mayegun Olaoye, resurfaced online and claimed he had been cut off from Ayomiku’s life for over two decades.
In a 2020 interview, Olaoye alleged that he had tried to reach out to Ayomiku but was prevented from doing so.
The incident reignited after the wedding, with some social media users questioning why he was not involved in the ceremony.
Despite the backlash, Ayomiku has remained firm in her stance, saying Soji Alabi is the only father she knows.
