A rare video featuring embattled Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has surfaced online, stirring reactions across social media.
In the now-viral clip, Baba Ijesha, whose real name is Olanrewaju James, is seen in the company of the monarch, leading many to speculate that he has been released from prison. The footage has sparked a flurry of comments from netizens, with some expressing surprise and others offering prayers of thanksgiving.
Recall that on Thursday, July 14th 2022, A state high court sitting in Ikeja sentenced Baba Ijesha to 16years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
The defendant was earlier arraigned before the Court on the 24th of June, 2021 on a six (6) count charge of, sexual assault by penetration (2014), Indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault of (2011), Indecent treatment of a child (2015), sexual assault (2015) and attempted sexual assault by penetration (2021).
While speculations have been trailing Baba Ijesha’s release since he was imprisoned, an X (formerly called Twitter) influencer identified as @AsakyGRN claimed that Baba Ijesha is no longer in the prison, as he backs it up with the clip of Baba Ijesha and Ooni of Ife.
He wrote; “Baba ijesha visits the Ooni of Ife after being released from prison.”
The caption on the video also said that Baba Ijesha went to give thanks to Ooni of If,e as he is the one who ordered for his release.
In the rare clip, Baba Ijesha was spotted on a bended knees while Ooni of Ife blesses him by praying for him.
