Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has revealed that her family warned her against marrying her ex-husband, actor Adeniyi Johnson, but she chose to ignore their counsel.
In a video interview shared on the official YouTube channel of The Announcer TV, Toyin explained that her family had prayed about the relationship and advised her that Adeniyi was not the right man for her. However, she admitted that her stubbornness led her to go ahead with the marriage despite their concerns.
In her statement, she said, “My family were a little bit sceptical, but it was my godmother that asked me to go ahead to marry Kolawole Ajeyemi, and I’m from a Christian home, so when my family prayed about it, they said I should marry my husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi. My family said Adeniyi Johnson wasn’t the right man for me, but I was stubborn. I have learnt a lot of lessons from my previous marriage with Adeniyi Johnson because I’m more mature as a person now.”
I was very stubborn in my previous marriage, but my present husband said I must be submissive. I responded to my husband by telling him that I will be submissive to him because I have learnt some lessons from my previous marriage. I’m more mature as a woman now because there are some things that I can’t do anymore. In my previous marriage, I got angry easily at every little thing, but now I’m so mature because I and my present husband have two kids together now.”
