The Yoruba arm of Nollywood has demonstrated deep love and appreciation for veteran actress Dupe Jayesimi by organizing a surprise birthday celebration in her honor.
Earlier in the week, Gossipinfo reported that the seasoned actress had marked a new age. To commemorate the occasion, members of the movie industry came together to surprise her with a heartfelt celebration on Saturday.
The surprise party was put together by her goddaughter, Biola Bayo, and was graced by notable industry figures including Toyin Tomato, Akin Boss, Iyabadan Sneh, Toyosi Adesanya, Toyin Adegbola, Funmilayo Adelusi, and many others.
Videos captured online showed the emotional moment Dupe walked into the birthday venue, and was taken aback by their grand gesture. The video also captured the moment she was presented with a money bouquet as she hugged all the celebrity guests at the party.
On Mother’s Day, Biola and other well-meaning Nigerians brought Dupe to tears with their grand surprise. The veteran was surprised with a new car, which left her in tears. She appreciated Nigerians for their love and support.
Recall that in March, Dupe, in an emotional interview with Biola Bayo, had opened up on her struggles with childlessness and failed marriage. She recalled how she suffered miscarriages and was maltreated by her husband. She also noted how she raised many people’s kids yet didn’t have any kids to celebrate her 60th birthday with.
Following her emotional interview, Biola assured Dupe of her undying support. She made her know that she wasn’t alone in this life journey and that her days of sorrow are over. The Yoruba actress declared that God had remembered Dupe.
In another post, Biola had gushed over her relationship with Dupe. Sharing a video of the veteran at her store, she expressed how blessed she is to have the veteran, who she described as a beautiful woman, and appreciated her for the visit.
