“When My Fame Was Growing, Ojopagogo Took Me Abroad—Maybe He Used Jazz On Me” – Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola Opens Up on Why She Cut Ties With the Movie Industry

Veteran Nollywood actress and producer Opeyemi Aiyeola has shed light on the events that led to her sudden relocation abroad at the height of her flourishing acting career.

In a candid interview with Oyinmomo TV, Aiyeola pointed fingers at fellow actor Rasaq Olayiwola, popularly known as Ojopagogo, suggesting that he played a puzzling role in her abrupt departure from the Nigerian film scene.

“Rasaq Olayiwola is wicked—he’s a stingy man. People from Epe have a reputation for being selfish and eating alone,” she said, visibly emotional and frustrated.

She went on to reveal how her rapidly growing fame was cut short unexpectedly, hinting that Ojopagogo’s involvement may not have been entirely innocent.

“When my name was rising, he came. I didn’t know the charm he used. He carried me abroad. That’s how I found myself in London.”

She described the experience as surreal, suggesting there may have been some spiritual manipulation involved.

“It seemed like he added honey. Epe people are good with their skills, and you will fall for their tricks,” she added.
