Veteran Nollywood actor Ali Kayode Agboola has opened up about a difficult chapter in his life, revealing how he was away from home for six years due to financial hardship—only to return and discover that his wife had sold all his belongings and married another man.
In an interview published on the official YouTube channel of Feel Right News TV on Friday, July 18, 2025, Agboola recounted the heartbreaking experience. He explained that he left his wife and child behind after facing a major setback involving a movie deal gone wrong.
According to him, a movie marketer had entrusted him with a film project worth ₦2 million, expecting him to handle its distribution. Unfortunately, all the intended buyers defrauded him and disappeared with the money. Faced with pressure and unable to repay the debt, Agboola said he fled the country to escape the situation.
“I was away from home for six years,” he said. “I left my wife and child behind. When I returned, I discovered she had sold all my properties and married someone else.”
He described the emotional and financial toll of that period, saying he spent those six years without a home, constantly moving from place to place in search of stability.

My wife and my kid had left the house before I came back because they couldn’t afford to pay the house rent when I wasn’t around. My wife sold all my properties and got married to another man before I returned from my travel. I tried to get her back, but it’s too late because she already has two children with her new husband.”
