Renowned Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has opened up about the reason behind her decision to cut off her hair, revealing that it was for a role in one of Muyiwa Ademola’s films.
During an interview shared on Mr LilGaga’s official YouTube channel, Toyin recounted how Muyiwa Ademola personally reached out to her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi, to plead for permission to have her hair shaved for the role. She also shared how her husband reacted to the unusual request.
Her revelation has sparked discussions among fans, with many applauding her dedication to her craft.
In her statement, she said, “When Muyiwa Ademola sent me the movie script, I loved it, and I asked him if I should shave off my hair to fit in the movie character. He told me that he actually wanted to tell me to shave my hair but that he does not know how to tell me. I told him that I will shave the hair but that he should call my husband and seek permission from him. Despite the fact that my husband loves to see me with my natural hair, he’s also aware that I will do anything for Muyiwa Ademola and my job. Muyiwa Ademola called my husband to beg him to allow him to shave off my natural hair. My husband said there was no problem, and he said that I can shave off the hair.”
